Eye Care for students

Do you get headaches or eyestrain from staring at your computer monitor? At the end of a long day in front of your computer screen, is it difficult to focus on distant objects? You may be suffering from computer vision syndrome (CVS).
CVS caused dry eyes, a common problem with most of computer users due to prolonged usage of computer. Students, computer workers, software engineers, readers may suffer from this CVS.
Tips to solve this problem:
  • Blinking: Blink frequently to keep the front surface of your eye moist. However, if you have severe dry eyes problem, then you may use a good eye lubricant viz. Vel Drop Gel or Lubrex. A bottle will cost you about Rs. 95/-
  • Eye Cooling: You may use a new product called Cool Eye (By flemingo). This is just like a goggle. Instead of glasses it has gel. You should keep it in fridge. When you feel your eyes are tired, just wear it for few minutes, and then place it again in fridge. It will cost your Rs. 99/-.
  • 20-20-20 Rule: Take short break for your eyes every 20 minutes between your work for 20 seconds then look at objects that are at least 20 feet away.

  1. I actually had severe headaches when I was young and my teacher always told me to have my eyes checked by a retinal specialist. I did what she said and found out that I have astigmatism. Good thing that I checked early or else my vision would have been more damaged without me noticing.
